Happy Birthday Paul!

This week was Paul’s birthday!  We started the week out with a family party on Sunday with yummy food and I even had Paul’s favorite pie for him to eat. He is really into the cream cheese lemon pie from Marie Calendars so that is what we had for cake. On Monday Paul and I dropped the kids off at aunt Jamie’s house and went to a concert with some friends. We went and saw Andrew Bird and Death Cab for Cutie at the Red Butte Gardens. It was a great night out and a really good show. On Tuesday, Paul’s actual birthday, his mom had a golf tournament fundraiser and Paul got his first eagle golfing! I admit I don’t know a ton about golfing but I know eagle’s are dang awesome! Paul’s birthday present was some new golf clubs that we got a month and a half ago since he has been golfing so much this summer and I am glad that they are working out well for him.

I hope you had an awesome birthday honey! The boys and I sure are thankful for you and love you so much!!

Impromptu Family Photos

Last week Paul had to take some photos of his mom, so the boys and I decided to tag along. Well we ended up taking a few family photos. I think they turned out pretty well for being unplanned.

Jackson Turns 5

Jackson’s 5th birthday was while we were in Boise. We had told him this year that he wasn’t going to get a friend party, but that he would be in Boise with his Grandparents, Aunt and Uncle, and cousins who he doesn’t get to see much. Needless to say he was pretty excited. He told me that for his birthday he wanted everyone to go bowling. So I let all the family know that that was his request and if they could come it would be great. We ended up having 19 people bowling on two lanes the night before Jackson’s birthday. It was a lot of fun! After bowling we went to my parents house and had cake and ice cream. It really meant a lot to Jackson to have so much family there for his birthday. He still tells his friends about bowling for his birthday. We did have another little family party when we got back from Boise with Paul and his family.

I can’t believe my little boy is 5!! Just like with Eli, I put together a  list of things about Jackson. Here is the list along with some pictures from his birthday.

  1. He loves Legos, creatively building towers and spaceships of his own design.
  2. Says he wants to be a “builder of towers” when he is older.
  3. He loves to make up games that involve “fighting dudes” including points systems for each move and “damage”.
  4. He is such a sweetheart. He loves to give hugs and tells people how much he loves them.
  5. He gives fish face kisses and they are the sweetest.
  6. His reward for being good is playing Xbox with his dad and brother. Favorite games include, Sonic Unleashed, Lego Star Wars, Lego Batman, and Tennis.
  7. When mad at us he often threatens to “sell our stuff on eBay”. We let him think he could actually do it.
  8. His favorite songs are “Funk Soul Brother” by Fatboy Slim and “Just a Friend” by Biz Marke. He sings these songs to himself often.
  9. He navigates kid sites on the Internet better than his Grandma.
  10. He recently figured out how to do a front-flip on the trampoline, which typically consists of him bouncing on his head and over.
  11. He loves numbers, counting and generating random large numbers.
  12. He does not like it when we are out in public and I make him use the ladies room so I can keep him in my line of sight, “mom, I am not a girl!”
  13. He is a little fish. He loves to swim and be in the water.
  14. He loves to play card games especially Memory and Uno.
  15. He is very into Transformers and Bionicles right now.
  16. He is very good and patient with little kids and is a great big brother.
  17. He loves to be around other kids. He gets so excited when he sees them play outside.
  18. He for some reason loves to put things in his mouth. He will suck on the ends of pillows, etc when he is just sitting around.
  19. He has had 4 outpatient surgeries in his 5 years.
  20. His favorite movie (as of today) is Night at the Museum. And loves to quite the Easter Island statue “Give me gum gum dum dum”.
  21. He loves to ride his scooter and his bike (now sans the training wheels).
  22. He loves to play games on his dad’s iPhone.
  23. He loves to do mazes and color pictures.
  24. He’s a big fan of anything related to Star Wars.
  25. He likes to eat sushi.
  26. His favorite color is yellow.
  27. He loves to wrestle.

Catch Up

I have a lot to catch up on my blog! A week or so ago my brother got married so we packed up and headed to Boise for the wedding. The wedding was fantastic! My brother married a cute girl who we have gotten to know over the past 6 months and we are excited to have her as a part of our family. After spending a few days in Boise, we had to send Paul back home so he could go back to work, but the boys and I stayed another week or so in Boise. We had a GREAT time. We went to parks, slip n’ slided, went to Eagle Island, went bowling, went boating, hung out with some old friends, and of course spent the majority of the time with my family. The boys had so much fun with their grandparents, Aunt Shantay, Uncle Sam and their cousins, who used to live here and now live in Boise. I guess they are technically my cousins, but they are closer in age to my kids. We also were able to celebrate Jackson’s 5th Birthday, but I am going to save that for another blog. Here are some fun pictures of our trip to Boise! (there are a lot of pictures)

The boys looked cute so I busted out the camera before we went to a missionary farewell for my cousin’s son.

20 weeks!

We have hit the halfway mark in the pregnancy! I can’t believe how fast it has gone by. So far I am feeling great, and baby is doing well. We have had a few requests for a belly shot, so here you go!

Jackson’s Preschool Graduation

Jackson graduated from preschool last week, and his teacher had them put on a cute little program. The kids told us all about the things they learned this past year, and sang the cutest little songs. Then Miss Denise, the teacher told us a little about each kid as she handed them their certificate of graduation. We were told that Jackson’s favorite color is yellow, his favorite food is chicken, and he wants to be a “builder of towers” when he grows up.  He has enjoyed preschool with Miss Denise this past year and we are so proud of all that he has accomplished. I can’t believe he starts kindergarten in 2 months!!!

I have to add this even though he doesn’t do it anymore, but Eli wore these earmuffs everywhere, even to bed, for the longest time. He is so funny!

A Healthy Baby Boy!

We had our official ultrasound today, and we expecting, for sure, a healthy baby boy! We couldn’t be more excited!! I would post some pictures but the ultrasound tech did not take that great of pictures. October 15 is still our due date and he is growing right on schedule. We think he is going to look like Eli but of course we won’t know until he arrives. Yay for 3 boys!!!
